Work-based learning experiences are conducted at a work site during or after school. 

 â€‹â€‹

  • Internships: Temporary positions that offer on-the-job training. Internships can be paid or unpaid and can take place in a variety of work environments. 
  • Job shadowing: A way for students to observe a career area or job that interests them. 
  • Informational interviews: Informal conversations with people working in a career area that interests the student. 
  • Career mentorship: Working with a mentor to get guidance on careers. 
  • Service learning: Community service that is integrated with classroom instruction.
